Copeland Spode 1907 Serving Dish - Waring & Gillow
Antique Spode serving dish with pheasant and flower pattern.
This pattern was first produced in 1816, the date markings on this plate show it was made in 1907. You’ll see also this plate has the markings of ‘Waring & Gillow Oxford Street’ too. Waring and Gillow was a furnishing store on Oxford Street in London, they had several ranges of Copeland Spode made exclusively for them, including this one. The Waring & Gillow building still stands and is now H&M and Uniqlo!
This serving dish could also be used as a trinket tray, or used decoratively on a plate wall or dresser.
